Clean / Restore trim around rear lights? 10 Years, 3 Months ago Karma: 47
Hi guys,

Was just wondering does anyone know the best way to clean the black trim around the rear lights? Mine have faded to bright grey at this stage.

I was going to try and rub them with a bit of petrol but I'm sure thats a rather ham fisted approach.

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks,
- Rex

try a heatgun around them very carefully- think I spotted one in aldi ballymun for €14 yesterday - it works on the trim around the wipers!

I have Nano technology stuff that protects trims and plastics around the car.

+no scuffs
+no marks
+no discoloring
+easy to apply
+long lasting
+wet look shine
+not oily
+solvent free
+UV resistant
+VOC compliant

I'm testing it at the moment on tires for longevity. As far as I can see this stuff leaves protective film that doesn't contain silicones. It is nearly impossible to powerwash it off from treated surfaces so it's definitely last for ages.
It's also extremely resistant to vinegar and mild acid.
Excels where others fail.

If ya interested pm for details

I have only one other piece of advice about this ... if you have a dog it may feel the need to lick your car for the first day or two

I recently got this product www.shinearama.co.uk/carpro-perl-500ml.html.
Seems to work quite well. Can be mixed for use on interior plastics. Also can be used on tyres to good effect.

Peanut butter works. I used it on the black rubber around my windscreen and the black strip between the drivers window and door. Can't believe it....
