Not so newbe saying hello. 7 Years, 9 Months ago Karma: 19
Hello to all of you, my name is Mike, I live North co.Dublin, just got my mr2 cuple of days ago, but I was on the forum for 2 weeks pior the purchase and found it amazing sourse of knowlage.Thank you all for that.

New to toyotas, but I have been trough it before. Some history:

Nissan 200sx 91 eu version ca18det – 169hp bulit 279hp on stock internals – 13.55et not a fire work but that was for fun not the times, alot of meetings, cruses, and amazing people meet over that few years.

JDM 300zx z31 88' havent seen seckond car like that in Ireland and guess what – this one wouldnt stay either - 16 hundred quid for a car and quoted 3k vrt 1,5k tax and no way to insure (full bonus over 25) so car went to the continent.

Than 2 yers runarond in volvo dealing with ups and downs in the country (mostly downs) and decision was made to get mr2 with I first wanted 10 years ago but something was always in the way.

Mots stupid thing I did. - drag race with my mate on official event – after argument over with is faster of the line and with is down the higher speeds we decided go past 1/4 mile mark (airstip) 200km/h – 7200rpm and mike swiched from 4 to 3 – it did not end well.

Best cruise:
300zx – from Ireland cross europe in week (thats why I love Ireland – you have friends all over the planet so it cost me 500e for week crusing holiday (part of spain, normadie, paris, frankfurt, koln, poland, czech rep.) all in 20 years old car.

I try to get some pics in here chronologicly - my motoring past

See you all out there.

Welcome to the forum. Nice history of motoring there.

Your 2 is fantastic looking, really clean. I think that is a Do-Luck spoiler, pretty rare! Few nice bits on there, the skirts, Toms scoop, paint looks fresh. Love the bronze wheels and you even have the TRD strut brace in the engine bay, again, rare and expensive. You did well with that!

Ah! Yeah you're right. Must be Bomex sides then aswell. The Do-Luck is very similar to that but maybe a bit flatter.

Thanks for good words guys.

Answering some questions

- The wing is Bomex
- the pait work is proper fuji camera with very rare Irish sunshine
(not bad in fairnes but front needs to be repaired
- I was looking for a sound engine and so far ok.
- Car is fairly standard power - just filter, 5zigen exhaust, and hks t.timer
- Suspension is to much to list - well uprated but to stiff for my project.

There is good few bad bits at the moment but nothing I cant handle so far.

- jumpy ride (seriously my tits have dropped 5cm since I Have it.)
- front bumper needs work (all is there just cracked badly)
- Gearbox - dont know yet - I will start off easy (with redline oil and master-slave cluch cylinders. (story short - stiff, cluch has to go totaly to the floor to change gear , and going down from 5 to 4 I had to rev it + some noise when operating cluch.

All other bits are lovely.

Oh yee I almost forgot - I do have serious cause of pop-uplitis - well noticed Harper
