whats the difference between those brake pads and normal
pads?

Taken from RHDjapan.com

The PROJECT MU Brake Pads Type NS - Front are designed for street use. They offer sufficient stopping power for the street. These pads are ideal for 0-400 C temperatures and have a 0.37-0.40 friction coefficient. The material used to provide the great stopping power is Non-asbestos (Asbestos Free) A great feature of the Type NS brake pads are the reduction of brake dust and noise to make for a cleaner more comfortable drive.

Have them on few weeks now and the dust reduction is great... my wheels are so awkward to clean so its a help

I've been banned from detailing today! I got a quick wash in - just chucked a bit of demon shine on this time round..I parked it under a tree and it was covered in sap yesterday!

Nilfisk C110 Hose - seemed to be battered after 2 uses - reading on the net its a common issue and costs £22 GBP to replace (entire washer was £55!) ..so I got a garden hose and slit it one side and covered the hose in insulation tape..job done!

Very quick Wash of car!..

Followed by the TBar glass out and a trip up to the Sally Gap...glorious day for it.

Well I finally got around to sorting the drainage for the alternator...I decided to do it as last week it was lashing rain in Mayo
and the belt started screeching like a horny cat so In bodged up the following

Ice cream box with drain tube hot glued to it.

I spent most of the weekend at the turbo. New rad fitted(thanks Marty!)Also fitted a front splitter that I took off the breaker I have.
I found front fogs in the booth! So I decided to have a go at restoring them
Brackets where broke off and the inside was fairly rusty.

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
Since the wife was away I had full use of the kitchen! Preheat the fan oven to 200c. Placed in glass face down for 5min max. Things started to get soft after that!

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
Two knifes one each side a gently prise the lens off while hot.
These are directional fogs and since I have the the setup all ready on the car I said I'd try and salvage that too
Rusty

All the rest of the lights are blacked out on the car so I decided to spray some of the reflective parts inside black
All except the piece that moves the result turned out to be good IMHO

I used a heat gun (misses was back!)to soften the sealant and heated the glass as well. There's two spring clips that won't go back in place if it's not fully back in position.

No pics as I was doing this in a mates pit and didn;t want him to worry about me

Oil change: Castrol Magnatec 10w40...4 litre can is just enough to fill an MR2still can't go wrong for €22!

Exhaust: there was a blow and the connection seems to have crumbled probably after some spirited driving, some exhaust paste and a bandage and its good as new.

I got one of these for the oil filter and its the greatest tool ive used on a filter, no prick acting with straps.

Not so much what I did on my deuce this weekend, more along the lines of what I did for it.

New cosy dryish parking area

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

Few finishing details to sort out yet but nice place to have if the trackcar is on stands in the garage and something urgent needs doing to any of the cars :)

Nice selection of parts, there will be no holding you back now Baz. Interested to see what you think after they are put on.

Get the four wheel alignment done after fitting them by somebody like JOMO.

I cant wait gonna be great

Will JOMO do a better job than a good wheel alignment centre? Or does he tweak the suspension overall?

Know you were very pleased after going to visit him.

Yes, B4ss also got his car aligned there if you want to ask him what he thought.

Cool might have to drop the mr2 in then might as well get the best tuning after putting all the money in haha

How long does it usually take as I'd need to drop the car in and hang about until its done as its a bit of a trek from Cork or Dublin

I left my car with him for two days the last time. If that is not suitable for you my cousin (Dave MC Cann Tyres) has worked on these for me and my Da the last while with no issue. You would need to book it with him and normally a hour will have you out the door all aligned. It would not be as track focused of a set up though. Unless you know specifically what adjustment you want made, but that would be your risk to take.

I have made some adjustments on mine a couple of times and reverted back to the factory settings as the car was to twitchy for the roads.

Here is a slightly better solution for alternator drainage if anyone is interested, its slightly simpler less work involved and nothing else being added in the engine bay for those who like to keep them looking standard.
A drill 2 rivets and a bit of stainless steel...

Use some sort of rubber like you see in the pic otherwise you will scratch the paint and get rust.
