OK guys we have 2 builds going on here ... First build was the carbon fiber car that just didn't go according to plan ... at all .. However we have that shell stripped back and over the winter if i get a chance I will be seam welding, lightning and putting a roll cage in that shell ...

Meanwhile we need a car to drive so I drafted in the road car ... We already gave it a few laps of Mondello and it didn't disappoint me ...

Here is a pic of her on track

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

and here is the current state of progress with the carbon fibre car

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

And here is a before pic ... She will look like that again .. I hope

First thing is first ... The car was down on power so we needed to investigate why ... and while we were at it time to fit some shiny stuff we had from the other car ...

First was the exhaust .. There was a blow in it so we decided to swap it for the other one ... Off came the old one ... Some quality welder had his hands on it before my ownership .. Quality workmanship there

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

So when that was out we decided to remove the cat ... a long time later the cat was removed and the new exhaust was fitted ...

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

next was the recirculating dump valve as its a rev 2 recirculating is important ...

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

Now the big fancy shiny side mounted intercooler ... Not the easiest thing to fit .. and the pipework was like a jigsaw ... hard to see but its in there

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

Now a quick shifter ...

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

Yippeeeeee ... Test drive stage

Oh i forgot I also fitted the Cusco front and rear strut braces ...

Anyway we took it for a test drive ... Power was well up ... Traction was way down ...

A few issues that need to be investigated ... Stock boost guage is going above the + sign at the top so possible overboost ... I will fit a boost guage and see when I get to it again ... also the exhaust appears to have some issue with the ground .. It keeps hitting it on the rough bits... but I am still on the 15s ... I have a set of 17s with R888 tyres so when they are fitted it should raise the cars ride height a little .. Also it has adjustable Ohlins shocks so I might just stiffen it up a little more ... here is the exhaust

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

And I will be fitting the drilled and grooved off the rev1 and the EBC yellow stuff pads ... Yes Spla300 I know they are smaller but they will still put you through the window ...

Marty I gotta be honest .. I have no idea ... They were all over the place when I got the car and all set differently ... It didnt seem to bad .. I just drove it from galway home and then to mondello and back so I didnt put up much miles on it ...

I am sure if you set them right they are 100% ...

Well as long as they are in good nick, you have some quality shocks there. Have you upgraded the bushings, tighten up the handling for the track ?

This is ground control to Japohara. You have permission for takeoff . . . . . . over.

I have the same indiglo dials on my dash.

I just took her for a test flight ... All seemed to go OK .. No idea how to setup the Neo so all set to zero and no pressing buttons... Front tyres are just far to wide on the front so they need changing for the 215 instead of the 235 ..

Ok so I got back to my car for a change ...

I took the carbon fibre wrap off the bodykit and cleaned it up ... I got a few rattle cans and sprayed up the kit .. No Performance advantage but pretty

Border Front Bumper
Toms Side skirts
Toms Rear bumper
Toms Scoop
Autopista Spoiler

Should look ok

But here is one of the work in progress ... Had 4 mates helping flat out on her all evening....

The wrap was an absolute nightmare ... 3 Days preparing the bodykit before i got to put a pit of paint on it ...

Now I know why people use the cheap crap ... It removes itself ... That stuff was going nowhere ...

It came of in about inch by inch squares .... and left all the adhesive there ... and you couldn't sand that off because it sand paper was just pushing it around ... and you needed to be careful what you removed it with because it may react with the paint ... So yeah lots of fun ...

Anyway she will be at Mondello tomorrow if anyone wants to come down for a passenger lap ...

It should be a good day ...

I think its a japspeed or at least it looks like one ... Its pretty much a straight threw as there are no baffles in the whole exhaust system
