Dyno run 5 Years, 6 Months ago Karma: 11
Well as above did a dyno run with spla 300 and jap Ohara..was expecting 250bhp even tough it goes like stink..but to my happiness made 320.9bhp with 318 torque..have a mines ecu exhaust system and induction kit..any1 know if a boost controller will make much more difference? And how can I get to 400 ha..cheers

congrats once again, your weekend started off very well anyway, impressive considering ur running stock internals, are you sure your boost is only .8bar?
you could stick the bigger intercooler on which will keep intake temperature down and allow you to raise boost safely, ill pm you details on that intercooler.
You should look for a mappable standalone or a piggiback, that way you could fine tune your setup to get more out of it. i have the emanage blue which seems to be cheap and good so far, so maybe look into them, they are cheap on ebay.
here is a pic i got of ur car on the day.

defo get a boost controller and crank that boost up to a bar, should take it no problem with the greddy intercooler. i think every 0.1bar you add is 10bhp extra.
i recommend you just sell your ecu and get something that can be mapped because you dont know what that ecu is doing to your engine. i think a piggyback is only gonna cost half the price of ur standalone one. you could get it mapped for economy at low rpm and power at high rpm. but with your ecu now all you can do is just see what power you have and cant remap anything to get more out of it.

Re: Dyno run 5 Years, 6 Months ago Karma: 72
manual will do but an electronic one is just so much better and a lot more accurate.
well he messed around with the emanage for about an hour and got from 270bhp to 330bhp out of my car and thats not even mapped properly since the engine is getting more done to it, it was at .8bar and ive lower comp pistons which will give me less power than your higher comp pistons.
you should be able to get around 350bhp out of yours if you bring the boost to 1bar and get it mapped properly.
if you dont care about how safe your engine is running crank the boost up to 1.3bar+ and see what happens

Great results lads, however I would caution.

Anything over 300bhp and the standard internals start to suffer, I hope you have the parts to prove me wrong over the long term.

I'd second that.

Plus, even if you were aiming for 400 and had internals done, i don't think you'll get there running the stock ct20b.

Also, some good info here

I've the st205 turbo in mine. Any idea when that will max out?
I'm hoping to get near enough 400bhp on my next dyno tune up.
