Disable boost or other ways to limit power 6 Months ago Karma: 26
Hey Guys,

My 2 needs some chassis work done, so I will leave it with someone for a few weeks.
While asking them not to drive and take note of the odometer, I would still take some steps to limit the power while they have it.
Any ideas?

Tell them that they aren't allowed to drive it on the road. It's your car, so they should respect your wishes. If you are having some welding work done, the car doesn't need to have a "test drive". If you feel that you can't trust them, then go to someone else.

Thanks Marty, I'll tell them.

This guy (Pat Kearney) was recommended by a dear friend who I trust, so I go with him.

Man, there are so many butchers around owning a lift and calling themselves mechanic.

- The sills on both sides.
They are not too bad, but the passenger side may not pass next years NCT as the rust just popped out from under the paint. Driver side was repaired 2 years ago by a butcher...already seeing a few bubbles under the paint.

- Clean up weld lines under the sills (where the sheets of metal are pinched/welded under the car) and lightly reinforce the lifting points as every lifting at a car mechanic leaves some mark on it.

- Floor under driver seat. Haven't lifted the carpet, but pushing on it from under, it feels very very thin.

+ whatever else the panel beater finds to be done

Cheers

Both front ARB mounting points had to be done recently as those were cracked/rotten.
