I'm Rob, from Dublin 15.

Got my first 91 NA G-Limited about '99. Then after a bit under a year, I got this silly urge to become sensible. So, sold MR2 and got a 96 Laguna and also bought a Renault 19 16v. Sold those two after about a month as I was missing power. Then got an Integra - was just a SOHC 1.6. So, just 3 weeks later, I opened the Buy&Sell mag and the page I randomly opened it on had an ad which drew my eye in seconds - silver mr2 - t-bar turbo. I went out, saw it and bought it. That was a rev2.
After modifying that with a ct20b and other rev3 components, I decided to get a rev3. So, saw a rev3 t-bar turbo in UK - went over and picked it up.
Some mods on this saw it at 347fwhp - then a rebuild (nightmare story) and I finally sold this on (was running at about 1.8/1.9bar) and got a SW20 Spider Aug 08 A month ago, I got a rev3 tubo lump swapped into it.

Met Quandry through mr2oc.com and he re-ignited my interest in the mr2 scene/community - an so, here I am

88 of them made worldwide - majority are in Japan/Hong Kong. About 5 or 6 in UK, one in France, one in Netherlands, a few in the US and one here in Ireland.

The came as NA's - you may hear of some factory turbo's, they were conversions.

About 20 of the 88 were manuals.

Gorgeous car mate and good to see you getting involved in the MR2 scene again. I remember asking you about your old car around the time you were selling it as I had plans to go for big power myself.

Looking forward to seeing how you get on with the mods in the future. Have you decided if you're going to put a spoiler on it or not?

Ta - yeah, mods on my Spider will not be that much - ST205cc, and up the boost a bit for now.

I'm basically against spoilerless MR2's on t-bars/tintops - but on the Spider I think it suits it. If I do go for one, it will be very subtle.

Hey Ray

Tubby is going well but I had gotten a so-called Walbro via eBay and turns out it's a copy. It seems to run okay most of the time but makes funny noises the odd time. Have a genuine Walbro since - so, have to get time to fit it !

Apart from that, she's running great.

How's your 2 2s !?
