MK£ intro 2 Years, 4 Months ago Karma: 2
Came across this site and like the cut of its jib.

I've been driving a MK3 for just over 5 years. I got serious spinal cord injuries back then and promised myself a fun car if I could ever drive again. Between 2 very serious operations I rather foolishly rushed into a purchase but it turned out well and I've no regrets.

Mine is a '04 silver model without any mods and it only had 46,000 miles when I got it.
It came with a hard top but I haven't used that so will probably sell it sometime soon.
I had to replace the top 2 Lamdas and done the resistor fix on the lower one
I hand painted the wheels as they were very badly corroded. The finish on the wheels now wouldn't please the detailing crowd but it.s a huge improvement on what they were

I've had some good fun in it - one of the best was a hard cross country drive to Sligo from Bray. Also , a mate who lives in the states borrowed it when he came home and drove his mother around the county. She told me she "felt like Marilyn Monroe" I've loaned it out several times to people I trust and they've all loved driving it. Always pleasantly surprised with the good wishes and comments strangers offer when they see you with it.
Anyway, looking forward to getting involved on these forums.

Welcome to the site.

There are more and more MK3 owners appearing, which is a good thing!

I hope to be driving a MK3 in the not too distant future.

Best of luck!
