Hi Paddy, welcome to the site.

Let us know how much you are willing to spend, this will help us to narrow it down on the list of ecu's that's available for your budget.

Hi Paddy, welcome to MR2.ie

Remeber to look past just the initial purchase price and have a word with your local dyno tuner. If you get a system they are familiar with it could save you €€€ of dyno time in the future.

Hi Quandry

Thanks for your welcome message! Yeah I have been talking to a local guy about a mines ecu! I also have a friend who had an mr2 with a mines and he knows the guy who remapped it for him! I've been trying to do some research on the ecu's but can't seem to find a lot of information! I find the standard information such as what you an do with them! Just not a lot in info of which ones suit mr2's! Also looking to buy a few more parts! But I think engine and ecu is first on my list

I agree with Quandry about asking around the dyno tuners to see what they are familiar with.

A word of caution though, the best ecu in the world is crap in the hands of a cowboy "tuner".

See who has a good reputation and who to avoid.

What are your plans for the MR2 ?

Found this info about MINES ecu: "The MINES ecu removes the fuel cut, raises the rev limit to 8000rpm , increases the injector cycles, is mapped for 1.2 bar of boost on 100ron fuel, and mapped for bolt on mods including air filter, exhaust, downpipe."

If that's all it does I would look elsewhere.

I have read about people using the Megasquirt pro for the MR2. It seems to be in your price band. Again you really need to discuss what your goals are with a good tuner.

What BHP are you aiming for?
Do you really need to spend half a grand on an ECU?
Im running a 200euro greddy emanage blue piggyback for nearly 2 yrs with no issues at 330bhp and should get close to 400bhp with my next remap
