Hey slipers

I might pop down for a track day with you to take some pics and even a vid, if I am allowed in the car without a helmet - dont currently have one and have a big head so borrowing doesn't work.

I do have a snowboarding helmet

Keep in touch dude and I can head down in the Honda sometime after the holiday i.e. after mid April

Spanky, the plan is to head up there at some stage this year and meet up with WeeJohn. we can get a big helmet for you if needs be, better to have one than looking for one.

Your more than welcome to drop down some day and sign you up as an extra driver, full for this one now though.

Japohara, looking forward to that.

Rudolph the red nosed MR2 is all ready to roll, broken arb's replaced, brakes all fettled, brake fluid flushed, oil changed, coolant checked, battery charged up, track tyres 50% complete progress. Gettting slicks for the front is proving harder than I thought but should be fruitful. Kingers is sorting me out with a set of rims for the slicks, sweet as a nut.

Up on the trailer last night, sweet.

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

I am also aware that I may have cursed myself with having the car ready so early.

Dave, I should be there for about 8-30 to sign on, that will continue till breifing at 9-00

Tsporter, your very kind.

WeeJohn, we will have a blast, looking forward to seeing what difference slicks make.

Dshamrock shall be the AV guy, hopefully only need a full tank and one jerry can. Set the odo back to 0 from 279kms after the last days outing.

Bring it on.

Do it, it weighs nothing and the 4AGE will not give any bother on the track.

Been a long time since I updated this thread!

Up onto stands the car went on saturday, then yesterday got stuck in for a little while and got the following completed.

All brake pads changed.

Brake fluid flushed and bleed.

Headlights and motor assembly removed.

Heater matrix removed and the reinstall looks factory almost.

If anybody needs to know about this, give me a shout.

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

New scrap stuff on the floor to trip up on.

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

Now what remains:

Coolant needs to be bled.
Oil and filter change.
New wheel stud ordered, to be installed.
Wet day tyres ordered and to be placed on rims.
Rear slicks requested (free) and awaited.

No doubt a few other bits and bobs will be needed before OTD 18

Looking good slip, still a few things that could come out of the interior in that pic, top carpet for example. Also, sit in the seat and look at all the sharp things you would not want to come into contact with, cut them off with a grinder as you will be surprised how much happier it makes you feel.

Re: Beams MR2 Track Car. 3 Years, 8 Months ago Karma: 327
So the net result of OTD 18's, 2:07's in Mondello is 2 wheel bearings on the LHD of the car are destroyed , not sure if they were original or not. But pricing up new bearings or 2nd hand hubs now to replace them and have the car ready for the next installment of trackday fun.

Thanks to Murtagh for sitting in the passo seat with me, pointers are much appreciated.

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

Before the last trackday we purchased some rear 225/50 R15 Kumho V70a's of medium compound, happy enough with them but the wear rate is to high, so will need to wear them out fully and replace with a harder compound on the rear. Replaced the brake pads with EBC greenstuff and they are adequate, but Toyota pads are better. After they wear out yellows or some proper track pads (50mtr board here I come) will need to be sourced.

Since getting the car I have not had the geo done, so going to put in the camber bolts and get a bit more of an aggressive setup dialled in.

So whats the work list now.

Replace the red nose to white :(
Fix up the wheel bearings.
Clean up all the alloys and paint them white.
Oil & Filter change.
Fabricate lighter crash bars for front and rear.
Further lightening work.
Get the Geo done.
Buff the body work.

Then all the other bits and pieces that crop up in the meantime.

Is it experience to get the geo done. Not ready to do it anytime some but just curious. When I took the back bumper of that rev 2 that I was breaking it only had a plastic type bumper support should there have been a metal bar as well.
