Hey lads. Ive been threatening to start this thread for months so here we go.
To do list.
Change blown rev 2 turbo engine for rev 3 turbo
Clean up kit. Cracks etc.
Fit tein coilovers.
Fit new interior
Fit deep dished alloys, gonna leave that till last.
Few other small bits.
We will be doing this in our spare time so progress may be slow.
Took it out yesterday and gave exterior a bit of a clean from dust from being parked up so long.

Thanks man. Body is good and straight. Was well put together by professional bodyshop. Few minor cracks in the usual places bottom of skirts and bottom of front bumper etc. The joys of having one of these.

Can't wait to see this finished

I like current colour but just in case you're looking for inspiration, here's a few more 2000gt 2's - some modified

Thanks lads. @ dmac the wheels wont be a problem as they came off another 2000 GT a few years back. I may not need spacers. As I believe they are especially for the kit. Im sure yours will turn out great goin by your pictures. The main thing is patience. Them kits cant jus be slapped on.

Small update..
It appears pearlesent paint is complicated
Apparently house of colour has the patent for this paint if I decided to touch it up.
First off ya cant just paint a panel because it wont match even with the correct paint.
It goes on in 3 coats and needs special uv resistant laquer.
I was advised to respray whole car in the same colour. It would take about 2 litres which would take 6 to 8 weeks to come from the US
Price of paint alone not uncluding thinners hardner or primer is 1200 euro!!!! When I can get 2 litres of 2 pack solid and everything else for 300... Is there any software where I can take a pic of car and paint car in pic any colour till I find a good one???
Any help would be appreciated.

Pearlescent paint is a real pain in the ass.
Some new Toyotas come with 2 stage pearlescent paint and there are quite a few body shops that don't even want to touch it because it's so much of a nightmare to deal with. It also means you can't really just get a touch up paint either as it doesn't fade in right when you do it.
Even worse again is some of the ford ST's with 3 stage pearlescent, complete balls for a painter.
If I was you I'd put it back to an oem mr2 colour, that way in the future it'll be much easier to maintain or rectify any issues that may occur with the bodywork/paint.

Wrapping a car is only to hide rust, in my time I've never seen a wrap that didn't look shit, plus I can't see any body in the world touching a car with this kit, seen it up close and it's a complex kit
