We are organising a raffle to help pay for cancer treatment for a 4 year old boy .... a friends son. This is what the pic link in my signature is.

We have had some discussions in the office about ticket pricing for the raffle.

We have £1000+ worth of prizes with top prize being a weekend B&B for two in Dublin, followed by a couple of prizes around £100 and a load of prizes in the £40-70 territory.

If I were to sell you ticket(s) for this what would you be happy to pay?

I think £5 per ticket is fair and aim to sell a reasonable quantity. Others in my office are saying £2 per ticket and go for volume of sales.

Your thoughts on this would be appreciated as you lot are the sort of people we will be targeting i.e. you dont know the family affected.

Thanks

PS: I wont hold any of you to buy tickets at either price

Depends on how your marketing them Spanky if its in your face type stuff £2-3.00 is plenty but needs lots of work from lots of people to make it reach the sales target.

However keeping it to a close circle will allow you have a higher price ticket but at say £10.00 the smallest value prize would need to be circa £40-00 IMO for people to feel the prize is worth it.

I generally just give for the charity and disregard any notion on a prize and would happily donate to this when you get your price point sorted.

You guys seem to thin the same as me. When we were talking about it in work yesterday, I was outnumbered by those who wanted to price it at £2. They wanted everyone to be able to buy one or multiple tickets.

I said that the number of people who would buy at £2 but not buy at £5 was minimal.

Most people will either recognise it as a good cause and buy 1 ticket either to support it or get rid of the seller. Other people who are extra generous or even know the child/family affected will buy a value of tickets so wont be affected by the price - they will just get more tickets.

The suggestion was that we get 10k tickets printed. At £2 or '3 for £5' this would yield £16.5k-20k.

My suggestion is 5000 tickets at £5 yielding £25k but easier and quicker to sell, plus involves no coins and we could (in theory) sell books for people to resell as there would only be one price option.

Keep the comments coming guys, but it would appear I was right ..... AGAIN

I knew I remembered the name from somewhere then it dawned on me about spanky posting this here.
Can't believe some scumbags about, lowest of the low doing that!
Great that someone replaced what was taken but still shocking all the same.

Someone matched what was stolen and then the thieves had an attack of conscience and left the money in a chapel/church. All in all, the fund got some additional money and (presumably) the thieves didn't know what they were stealing. Doesn't make stealing right obviously, just makes it slightly less disgusting
