TOPIC: Sunroof Removal

Sunroof Removal 11 Years, 5 Months ago Karma: 62
Just noticed that there are some kind of half-assed instructions on the back of the drivers side sun-visor on how to remove the glass sun-roof. I has not thought that this was possible until now and thought it was just a partial sunroof. I can really make out the instructions though...I was wondering if anyobdy here could explain to me what to do, or indeed if I should just leave the thing as is and not tamper with it?

It's just a normal sunroof...it could be me being stupid but I'm sure the instructions are telling me how to remove the whole thing. I'll put up a pic asap...

Why would you remove a moonroof? Do they not just either tilt up or slide back? Or is that the difference between a sun and moon roof?

I think the roof should be able to be rolled back or removed completely. I don't think there's any difference other than the name, i wondered myself for a long time what a moon roof was and i was told it's just a sun roof, no differenc

Yes the sunroof (or Moon Roof at it is officially called in the Two - as it comes out completely) can be completely removed and stowed in the frunk over the space saver .

Just open the roof from the inside of the car, then step out of the car and reach across to the rear catch on the roof. 'Pinch'/squeeze quite hard, the the catch on either side and it will release. You then simply lift the moon roof clear and stow it in the frunk.

Once you've got the knack of doing it its dead easy
