ISDC, Trackday Invite 23rd Sept 5 Years, 8 Months ago Karma: 326
Hey you lot, I was talking to a mate of mine on ISDC and they are arranging a trackday for Sept 23rd. Our club has been asked if we would like to attend, I for one will be going and would love to see a few more MR2's on track (please god don't be raining).

For you lot worried about your car getting wrecked / damaged or dinted, this is a totally in club event, nobody from the general public will be attending and it is run the the good manner you would expect. The track day rules as applied in Mondello will be applied in all respects. So if your up for going the only way to confirm entry is to paypal the money, I will confirm the PP address later.

hi all, after last years great success, this years trackday will be on the friday 23rd september in mondello park, full international track for the full day (10 am-5:00pm).

for anybody that missed last years, everyone will tell you how great it was here isdc.ie/discussion/index.php?topic=26811.

this will be the cheapest track day in the country as it is highly subbed from the club so dont delay in paying as we are limited to 50 drivers/cars. if we get are 50 drivers/cars from the isdc there will be no need to offer this out to other clubs like we did last year with the IMOC lads but it might happen but them lads were very nice last year and were no trouble on track. cost for non full members is 150 euro which is still great value, this will be open up to other clubs on the 1st of july in the event we dont get 50 isdc members

Details for the Day!

From Mondello:
Drivers must be over 18
Passengers must be over 18 too
Drivers must hold a valid full drivers license and produce it (or proof of it) at sign on
Sign on begins from 9.00am
Drivers Briefing at 9.30am
Track session from 10am to 5.00pm

the plan again is for the first-timers to go out for a few laps at 10am to familiarise themselves with the track before the more experienced drivers join in.

We have arranged for 3rd Party Public Liability Insurance from Mondello?s insurers (paid for by the club). Note: this insurance does not cover any injury or damage caused by one participant to another whilst on track or in the pits. It does however cover passengers for same. If you wish to insure your car to cover the possibility of you crashing or being crashed into, you will need to do this seperatly.

so lets go go go people, as i know a few lads were kicking themselfs they didnt do it last year after a great day on track
please only add your name to the list when you have paid, thank you.

We'd ask people to be in attendance at Mondello for 9.00am as Ian Beatty needs to ensure plenty of time to complete sign-on & then the safety briefing.

Committee members are planning on being there from 8:30am onwards so feel free to call early & start soaking in the atmosphere

Don't forget your drivers licence & helmet on the day.

Feel free to bring the wife or girlfriend (kids too if they're fully supervised). We have full use of the suite until 6pm so there will be a place to shelter from the rain if necessary.

There will be tea & coffee facilities there to keep you warm and lunch will be organised, we're also working on some goodies too for the day.

please only add your name to the list if you have payed.

I have just got off the phone with Johnny (Aka Duffman) on ISDC and he should be along tomorrow with a paypal address to pay to.

1. Slipsliderg (unpaid)
2. smurfster (unpaid)
3. Sardmc8 (unpaid)
4. anto300zx (unpaid)
5. TurboD (unpaid)
6.

There is now need to worry about the cars lads, the guys I know on ISDC are just as careful as us with their cars and have vested alot of money in them.

Hey Slip, is this different to the 'training' day at Mondello? myself and Augusto would be tempted but probably start with the training would be a good idea I was thinking.

This is different to a track day training day. But as a club event many people there will have no previous track experience. This is like a final event in the year for the ISDC club I think and thus it is a social gathering as well as a bit of crack.

Porsche's would even be allowed Augusto

This is a photo of my mate in this twin cam last year with a civic and fiat cinqento thing on the track.

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

Next car track training day in mondello is on Monday 15/08, if you can get the time off then its well worth doing as its in your own car. When it comes to the day then you will be familar with the running of a track day and the manners required. Instead of worrying about that on top of it being your first outing on track. If you can't make this I woul gladly hop in the passenger seat and give you any pointers I know, then you could follow my lines / braking points for a few laps till you boost past :)

I think you will be ok to come along, doubt there is a charge for spectators.

Johnny a couple of questions.

What's the story on people going out as passengers is there a charge for that or is it not allowed at all.

Also is the €150-00 price for non ISDC members, if so its a great price.

Is it an open pit day, with the track close for lunchtime.

Can the garages be rented if the weather turns.

hi everyone

it free for all passengers but rules apply from mondello for safety reasons, overs 18s only and they must be there for the biefing at 9.am to sign on for a wrist band, no one will be aloud on track with out one.

yes it is 150 euro for non isdc members and this is restricted to 50 cars/drivers which is a great price because our club is subsidising this event, it also means there will be plenty of space on track as we will be using the open pit lane system and drivers can us the track as they please. the track will be closed from 1-2pm for lunch which will be supplied by the isdc for drivers and there passenger.

we will have the use of all the garages on the day that mondello are not using for car storage, last year we had the use of about 10 garages which house 3 cars each. these are fist come first serve basis.

we have no problem with anyone from here coming on the day for a look and a few passenger laps but with it been a private day with dont want the hole world knowing that we will be there if you know what i mean, for the safety of all our car in the future, some of our scooby lads are abit anal about this as im sure a few on here are.

cheers johnny

p.s. anyone have any questions about the day just fire away. this track day will be prefect for someones first track day with the relaxed atmosphere in the paddock and on track and we run the first 15mins on track in the morning for the first timers and usual get the experianced lads to go with them if they want to show them the lines of track.

Bump for an excellent event.

Plus a couple of bits ordered Tuesday from Fensport along with my new tyres, brake fluid, fuel filter and oil filters to do a full service on her before hand to help me not get passed as quickly.

hi tuborgman

thats actually dot 5.1 which is an upgrade for cars as it has a higher boiling point and better(stronger) feel to the brake peddle.

dot 5 is for bikes as you say.

cheers johhny

p.s. any one else for a cheap track day??

As Duffman said it's 5.1 which is safe to mix with normal brake fluid unlike the synethic dot 5 stuff.

I am going to completly drain the system, then fill it, then bleed them out.

Really looking forward to this one will be a great event both driving and socially.

Might be an idea to check that with Duffman, Anto. I have no hand in organising this and I am assuming that anybody from outside of the clubs / sites invited directly would need to be vetted by him and ISDC as the invite is to this MR2 site not third parties.

Don't take the above as anything bad towards your mate, its just the way this is organised if anything should happen at least people are somewhat tracable. Again it's down to Duffman so I would drop him a PM if I was you.

hi everyone,
jonathan here from the isdc, im an event organiser over there and have been talking to ray (aka slipsliderg) from here about inviting you's to our anual trackday in mondello on friday the 23rd of september. we have run this day the last two years with great success and with no hassel as everyone there loves there cars and respect each other around them but also having a fast great time aswell.

the plan again is for the first-timers to go out for a few laps at 10am to familiarise themselves with the track before the more experienced drivers join in.

We have arranged for 3rd Party Public Liability Insurance from Mondello?s insurers (paid for by the club). Don't forget your drivers licence & helmet on the day.
