We will be taking our 2 out on Sunday for its first track session. If anyone is heading down or going out in another car let us know or come over and say hello.

Taking an in car camera down as well so should have some either decent, or some very embarrassing footage to post up lol.

Nice video, you drove it well, used the power rather than took to many chances diving in on the brakes. Was their much damage done through Colonial on the 1st lap?

Not quite ITCC standards but still good fun for us. We got passed by more cars than we passed but it was really just an engine test day and it passed the test well.

That Fiesta in front of you wasn't hanging about

Loved the little wiggle you got towards the end of your second (I think) lap.

The Fiesta was stripped to the bone inside, I think I weighed more than it did.

The wiggle out of the chicane made us laugh, the one we had through Detters Dip at just over a ton didnt lol.

Cant wait for next year now we know its going to stick the pace of a trackday, it will be going on a severe diet in the next few months to see if we can get some more speed and agility out of it.

the best weight saving you could get is to lose the passenger

other items to consider are all unnecessary electrical items a/c, stereo, alarms, electric windows etc. Also carpets, pass seat, storage boxes, spare wheel etc etc.

I think it is fairly easy to get the 2 down close to 1000kg (~200kg lighter than standard) without buying carbon fibre bonnets etc.

Thats the obvious stuff mate, we are looking into cutting the under braces out of the bonnet, boot lid and engine cover, removing the lights and parts of the wiring loom we dont need, replacing the seats with lightweight buckets as well.

The passenger is the easiest weight to get out but we share the car and day together. We have bought the car between us and pay for 1 car with 2 drivers. That means we split fuel and other costs 50/50 and we alternate drivers between sessions to keep the costs down. We usually go out 1 session on our own or with a different passenger but its good craic and there is a degree of competition with 2 of us going out lol.
