coolant??? 7 Years, 2 Months ago Karma: 15
plz any suggestions/tips on how too check my coolant level in the tank i cant see in the bottle at all took off the rad cap and no coolant in there? then went to the exspansion tank and cant see the levels at a all ? pulled out the rubber hose goning down into the tank and it was only wet about 3 inches bac up from the tip? and the car had been out on a run and this was only a half hour after it had cooled down??? is there any easy way too check my coolant level is ok?? help me out lads its doin my head inn

Coolant should be up to the rad cap mate.Did ye put any in? Is she overheating?

Does the temp needle go to 9 o clock.

temp needle sits nicely at 8 o clock never varies once the car has heated up.. will i just top wit coolant were the rad cap is and let any excess go out the over flow? or should i top up the expsion tank as well ? prob is i cant see in the exp tank? level??

Yeah top up with the Toyota 4life red stuff.. Could be just an air pocket

Expansion tank just top up bottom part up the base of the skinny tube ( if that makes sense)
a torch and you should be able to see.


Check your rad cap for wear.. If its old and worn you may as well change it, only 10 or so from

what are the tied off tubes for in the frunk? there situated behind the removable trim in the center of the car like there comin outta the dash?

i get u ..ur sayin top up exp tank enough that its wetting the tip of the coolant tube more a less and fill up the hose part all the way and replace the rad cap maybe was an air pocket??

ok thanks saturday week is d day bit more rescearch then im gonna flush it out i just dont wanna do any dammage b4 then

More or less I changed the radiator and it was losing an inch or 2 of coolant every drive. Fill up the square part of the expansion tank and a little bit of the tube.

If the rad cap is tatty looking just change it one less thing to worry about

the cap looks fine and there are no leakes any were?? but i have a lad comin on board from saturday week too give me a hand ' works for honda' so hopfully he'll sort some issues for me just dont wanna do any dammage b4 then so will top up like u said for now thanks

If you are flushing the coolant next week just top it up with de ionized water til then

€5 for 5 litres in Halfords
