i'm alway tire of walking around the car to use the stock prop rod. i wanted to order one from TWOS R US. but, they wanted $70 plus shipping and a month to ship it out. now, i can go ahead and order it or use my free time off and figure it out how to make one. knowing me. i like to learn new stuff.

so, i headed out to a near by hardware store to pick up a few item. bracket, nuts, and bolts. as for the prop rod itself. i had to go to a auto parts store. which i got the prop rod and all the stuff i needed for only $20.

i just use the round edge of the bolt to mount it onto the prop rod end. doing some few test to see if it would pop out or not.

my first attempt to mount it on with the shorter bracket. it work well. but, i didn't like the look or the fact that i use self tapping screw to hold the bracket. knowing that my engine will shake and therefore the screw will fall off sometime down the road.

i change the shorter bracket out with a much longer one that will use the same two bolts holding the filler neck.

the first bolt was right here.

and the last bolt goes here.

i also make sure that the prop rod was away from the filler neck and x-brace.

the is the video of the first short bracket i install. but, the new bracket work the same way. i'm a happy camper for a $20 buck home made prop rod. :)
