I got this car about 3 years ago, it had a knock i the bottom end and scorched cams because the lady owner didnt seem to know that the engine needed oil... Someone was trying to fix it but left it in 10 different pieces... the bodywork wasnt that great but the main reason i went for it is because it was never in an accident.

I never took pics of the interior but it was all covered in mould from sitting around for over a year, im sure the car would have been scrapped or sold for parts if i didnt buy it (not that it had many nice parts lol)

Some difference from when you first got it. KC+1
Your front bumper is by bomex.
Are you gonna leave the drift wing the way it is or you planning on paiting it?

Thanks man, i think ur the second person today asking if im gonna paint it lol,
I dont understand why would anyone need to paint aluminium? its like painting a carbon fiber bonnet, i think them things are nice the way they are.
Do u think it would look nicer painted???

Yeah, I really like the look of it, just the aluminium doesn't really match the red.
I think it would tie in more with your car if it was black or maybe carbon wrapped to match the bonnet or maybe even the end caps red and centre blade black.
Its all in the little details lol

Ok thanks I'll look into wrapping it in carbon which I doubt is gonna work out well or just get a carbon spoiler.
I was wondering what If I was to get a carbon boot lid and put that spoiler on it would the boot lid get damaged/cracked or deformed in any way from the downforce of the spoiler???

Yeah if the carbon wrapping was too hard I'd just paint it all black, it would look a lot meaner that way and give your car a more of a racing look.
I can't recall seeing anyone put a metal spoiler on a carbon bootlid on an mr2, I could be wrong but like you said I don't imagine it'd fair too well and if it did damage it you'd be pretty pissed after splashing out on the price of carbon! lol

What did you do to bring the paint up to such a lovely gloss? It's great compared to the way you go it.

Hey guys, ordered myself a set of cam gears on ebay for about 90e including postage and all.
hope these will sort out my timing belt issue...
Will i set these as standard or will i adjust them a bit since i have the advantage?
Anyone know anything about adjusting these to gain power and fuel economy?

got them cam gears fitted, it was difficult getting at the tensioner, never went near the timing belt while having the engine in the car, some job lol.
its difficult to see them though, not very noticeable but can be easily adjusted
While doing that i decided to fit lowering springs i had lying around, car is lowered by about 30mm now, very bumpy on back roads but awesome on the motorway.
front springs:

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
I got bonnet pins installed to which i forgot to mention...
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
Also got 10meter strip of led's and some flexible tubing.
Gonna put the led's into the tubing, seal the ends with silicone and cable tie it under the car to have a white glow...

Thanks lads, i got the boost controller installed properly, needed 20cm of extra wire to put it over the steering column, ended up cutting, soldering and extending the 8 wires by 30cm, what a pain!
And i seem to have lost a little power im guessing the adjustable cam gears slipped a little because it cant be anything else, ill have to take the cam cover off again and adjust them, then ill set the ignition timing again, wont have to bother Mjmitch again for the timing light because i finally got mine from ebay, happy days

Did some carbon wrapping and more to come
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
Also got some led's from dx.com
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
2 of them kinda broke when i was trying to install them but super glue did the job
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
Here is the difference between them and also i installed the nur spec exhaust, nice sound but i wouldnt say its loud, and carbon wrapped the piece between the lights.
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
Also recaro seats, can anyone confirm if they were a factory option? because i have the door cards to match the seats (dont mind the snow on the drivers one)
Apart from the 2 holes in the drivers seat they are in pretty good condition.

Thanks man,
Well since this is the 3rd engine in my car i have a bit of experience and its a piece of cake now but I was unsure the first time and still went along with it and got there eventually so i suggest you go for it yourself, you can always pm me for help.
All you need are a few pallets, engine crane and tools.
If you are putting a different engine in make sure you get the engine wiring, ecu, the wiring going from the engine to passenger footwell, fuel pump and bigger rad is good too but not really needed if ur not pushing it to the limits.
Also rev3 brakes is a good idea to stop you,
After you do the swap the power is awesome, very big difference and well worth it, i recommend you wait for a crashed rev3 to show up on donedeal you should get one for about 800 or less and probably a boost controller with it, the fuel pump, rad (depends if the car is crashed from front) and lots more goodies.

Not to sure on the value dude. I have a set my self but like you there is wear on the drivers seat so don't thinks they would be worth very much. Have been meaning to put up a tread to see would many people be interested in swaping our good passanger seats with the lads in the us then for every two sets every one would wind up with one good set. Not sure maybe we could take the covers of the seats to save on shipping or put maybe ten on a pallet. Kind of an exchange program might see would frank the tank or someone gauge the interest over there. Or if some here speaks french or German we could chat to them as well.
