Couldn't agree more. Car design took a step backwards when pop-ups were made illegal on new cars

I think it was something to do with safety for pedestrians. There cant be anything with sharp edges or pointy on the front of the car. Wonder what was the last production car to have pop-ups?

mr2s were made up til 99 with some being registered in 2000.
I'd say an nsx would have to be in the running for one of the last pop ups.

So a few pedestrians get killed. I think its worth it for pop up headlights. Serves them right for walking about at night

I believe that pop up lights are an Integral part of automotive culture and indeed motoring heritage and as such should be afforded the protection European cultural laws.

Plus they look the tits.

I have to say - although our popups are another similarity we share with the F40 (along with the classic wedge sports car shape), the popups on a 2 are nicer

to me it looks like f40 has got unsuccessful plastic surgery after noticing pop ups on m2....not sure if years of manufacturing would back my story up
