Pity about the crazy windy weather - that put a stop to about 90% of our plans ! But it was still a good show. Thanks everyone for coming along and helping out

Great pics lads, fair play. Was a great day bar the gale force winds. Shame the whole Marquee and BBQ got screwed up because of it, but I had a fantastic day and am now at home in agony with sunburn!
Just realised, I never even took my camera out of the car I was so preoccupied cleaning my wheels, eating hot dogs and keeping the car free of finger prints!

Punky, believe it or not, nobody makes those, not Toyota, not Auto art, nobody.
I found a guy on the MR2oc.co.uk who can make molds. He made a clear mold of the orange ones. They look great, but there is a little bit of work in fitting them.

Ok here's the Quandry photo tour of the event. There were A LOT of cars that I did not see on the day but this gives a feel for a few highlights. Overall - really loved the show, can't wait for next year!!
MR2's represent!

I was so blown away by all of the cars at the meet I forgot to take more pics of our stand, sorry to everyone parked on the other side of the line....

The Jag area was well setup
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
Beautiful old Jag, I love the wings. What a period!
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
Jaguar race car. This thing was Evil, it's setup with a parachute but the suspension wheels on it made it look like it was for the track. Maybe it's multipurpose! anyway it was seriously setup.

The Ferrari's at the show were something else. The first one I saw had four seats... I never knew there were four seater Ferrari's and at first I thought it might be a Peugeot in a Ferrari kit but sure enough it is an actual production car.
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
Testarossa. I had a poster of this on my wall as a kid in the 80's Just wow.

Red is the flavour of the day for Ferrari :cheer:

This '79 308 GTS which has an East West Engine! I mistakenly assumed that ALL Ferrari's were north-south.

This Ferrari is a kit, and was at the kit car stand. Looks like it was a replica of something with serious racing history:

This RX7 was nice, but looked like it had a Rev5 wing!
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
Very similar
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
Opel Kadette this side of the world, but in Aus they were the Holden Gemini - god we hated Gemini's in the Celica Club (they always did better burn outs)
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
Some more kit car action - amazingly nothing based on an MR2!
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
This speedster was amazing. I don't know if it was genuine or based of a Karman Ghia but it was beautiful
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
And then two classic Celica's - oh be still my beating heart! it was like getting slapped in the face by a wet fish or realizing you're standing in the middle of the crowd naked - a real shock to the system!
This TA22 was an ST model. Equipped with a 2T 1600cc side cam (pushrod) motor with twin down draft carbies, and the silver bonnet vents that were mounted up front.
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
Tucked away in there were rare options such as the factory oil pressure/ammeter gauge :cheer:
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
Judging by the tail lights and the squared off guards I would say this is a 1974 (approx) model.
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
There was also a GT model available in Japan that had the ST options, plus a 2TG twincam + LSD rear end. The 2TG was double over head cam, but an 8 valve motor that ran a two stage timing cam, from the crankshaft up to the side cam (or in this case just a pulley on a shaft) and from there another chain up to the camshafts. I had one in my Celica and it was a great little motor for auto cross (or Motorkhana as we used to call it). I later changed to a 4AGE in my Celica which was fuel injected and pretty more superior engine to the old faithful 2TG.
And the 1977 RA28 "Mustang" Celica. These were a limited run model because (allegedly) Ford sued Toyota over designing a car so similar to the real Mustang. They were a very good unit and were equipped with a solid 2litre 18R engine (found in Japanese Tractors of the time. The GT model had a Twincam 18RG, twin side draft carbies and LSD.
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
One of the distinguishing features of the Celica's of this era was the way the bonnet lifts, from the windscreen up, rather than the bumper up. Very endearing cars altogether and certainly from a time when Toyota made cars that people could be passionate about!

Rob spotted these two little MR2 models in the back of a KE30 Corolla. The Corolla was covered in Tom's badges. It may have been an original Tom's race car as they certainly did knock out some Corolla models...
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
They weren't the only small cars there. This is a 1959 Messerschmidt - more motorbike than car but what a quirky little thing. It attracted quite a crowd..
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
And then the American Muscle...
70-73 Camaro: the 454 on the side denotes the engine size 454 cubic inches... that's a 7litre V8!
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
Plymouth Barracuda
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
Mustang, Chevelle, Firebird
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
Gran Torino - Where's Clint Eastwood when you need him?? :P
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
Corvette Stingray - absolute dream car
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
and a Dodge Charger - The General Lee no less!!! yyeeeeehaaaaah

Thanks to the guys at MR2oc.com for helping me with the names of some of the US cars

and even Aussies! - a 1960's Monaro. God this car has travelled a long way to get here. These are considered a classic in Australia and attract a pretty penny to buy in good nick. This one looked flawless
