Okay, there has been a strong feeling to go back to the original suggestion of having an MR2 only birthday overnighter. The feeling was we can meet with other car clubs anytime durng the year and thats no problem. But the Bithday should be like the magazine says ....

MR2Gal has put in a lot of work into organising the BoyneValley and if we have to cancel on this, we need to let the hotel know asap.

So, the current suggestions are possibly a run to Athlone (doesn't matter if we do it now and again at Christmas?). Spanky had a suggestion of

I'll be away till 16th of September, so it really just depends on the date etc for me to go or not

I'm happy with that. Doesn't have to be Athlone both times. I propose Athlone for the 1st anniversary and Galway for the Christmas get together. It would be great to get all the south and west members involved for a change as most meets are usually east coast and its not fair on the rest of the country. I would like to finally meet all the Cork, Clare and Galway members, see some new faces and cars as well as the usual crew.

Hey Rob, Sad that the others don't want it with the other cars as originally Planned but Sure thats the way it goes. Have to say it was "Tattude" that did the majority of the running around and holding rooms under his name for our Club! He works in the Hotel so would appreciate if we could take a vote on this asap to see if we need to hand back rooms or not. The Hotel is still an Option with JUST the club for the Birthday but I'll leave it up to the majority of the Members!!

Can it be late September? Any issues with that?

I have no objections to that Swagger!! Maybe the Boyne Valley Meet could still go ahead, especially at that Price!!

Can someone tell me if this event is on or not?

Pigpen (Alan - Kyle GWrinkle mate) from MR2OC has booked the hotel already. I need to update him on what is happening so he can consider his options.

I realise this is no longer the anni event, but is it still happening and being supported by those who planned to attend already???

Sure certain individuals from certain areas could meet up on the way and arrive in convoy. Then on the Sunday, there could be an official drive or run.

I guess the plan is to get everyone in the one accomodation. So, I'd say we'll need to book in the next few weeks.

Here's another suggestion for accomodation.

Self catering appartments - only 100 euros per night - says it sleeps 2 adults and 2/3 children. Even if it was only two adults, its only 50 quid per night each. If it sleeps 4 adults, then only 25 euros per night

Just checked their web site and each apartment houses four, not sure on the bed arrangements and getting use of there private car park would be a must as the apartments are remote to the B & B which has the car park.

I'll definitely show my face, not sure just yet about staying the night
