it is really shallow water, I was fine driving through it today so with standard sus = no problem, lowered = problem

I done a recon mission on part of the route today. The best place for the two groups to meet is across the road form the Monaghan Shopping Centre. There is a massive car park. This is on the Clones road out of Monaghan town near the Dunnes Stores. When I was there today it was totally empty ... donut opportunities for those who fancy it

See you all there at about 11:30 next Sunday

are you serious about that? That would be awesome for taking pictures, make it look like the car is just floating there

I presume you are joking but just to be sure, there are two bridges on the route, no shallow water

The bridges might make good photos though. If you are our designated photographer for this drive you could speed on a get a photo of each driver

i didn't know if you were serious or joking. There are a couple of bridges in the wicklow mountains that sit just below the the water table, i thought it might be the same kind of thing. I'm sure there'll be plenty of photo ops on the day anyway

If I had have realised you lot were sooooo gullible I would have kept it up for longer

The route was dry the whole way, but I did get a massive (about 5mm long) stone chip on my bonnet which was resprayed 500 miles ago - it actually gowdged (spelling ) out the metal. I have taken off the loose and filled it with some touch up. Will give it a polish tomorrow night and fingers crossed it should blend in. Whatever way it turns out I know that a) it wont be perfect so I am pi55ed, and b) it will still look better than bare metal

Cheers Ricky but I have a touch up. The guy who sprayed the bonnet for me got it for me but I wasn't expecting to need it quite so soon.

How soon could I polish it? I thought 24 hours but should I leave it longer??

Cheers Ricky.

Knowing me I will redo it and polish so many times that I will need the bonnet sprayed again

Fingers crossed it turns out OK. You can all play 'spot the touch up' on Sunday - a very short and depressing game

Thats a shame dude

Though you only have to see my bumper to know what stone chips are

Sitting close behind cars is what does it, and long road trips like the Highlands and Ireland Drive are just hell on the paintwork

Little chef blanchardstown is the usual meeting spot. I dunno what time though. We usually meet 30 mins before we need to leave to have a chat or a bite to eat or whatever

I'd say we'd be safer leaving at 9.30am, route planner says it takes 1hr 42mins to monaghan so be best to give ourselves 2 hrs to meet the lads at 11.30am at monaghan S/c because Spidey's one of thise typical sunday drivers ,

So in theory we could meet at around 9 - 9.15 at little Chef Blanch to leave at 9.30?

maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_...39,1.234589&z=10

B4ss if you want to pm me your number i'll give you a buzz when were leaving and when we get to a certain stage on M1 etc?

Re:MR2OC Fermanagh Lakes - Sun7thMar - All welcome 8 Years, 8 Months ago Karma: 217
Hey all

I have booked 16 places in the restaurant so it looks like we shouldn't be far off that. I can increase or decrease the numbers on the morning, which I am planning to do when we meet up in Monaghan.

The list as far as I know is as:

1. Spanky + Mrs Spanky
2. Ricky2
3. Gwrinkle
4. Joey
5. mnixon
6. dee21 + 1
7. AndrewMcAlonan (MOT dependant )
8. Spidey
9. dshamrock2000 & SWAGGER
10. letsgotothepub
11. SteveH
12. MadmattyTurner
13. THETOOMWAL + 1
14. B4ss

The most likely routes are:

STAGE 1 ... Belfast to Monaghan ... 10am-1130am

STAGE 2 ... Monaghan to Lunch ... 12noon-1pm

Alternate STAGE 3 route after lunch, around lakes & back to Belfast through Aughnacloy

I have routed the return through Aughnacloy so that the southern members can head home at that point as the rest of us head back towards Belfast.

I am not sure if the restaurant accepts Euro or not. They are quite close the border so there is a fair chance. That said, its probably best to have some £s or a card with you in case.

Weather forecast is for sun, about 6 degress C and NO RAIN

I think that covers everything ... fingers crossed for a good drive
