Notwithstanding the great KC stand off between me and Spanky (think he is miffed I beat him bad today , needs a turbo that kart.)
Considering Quandry started it here is my results , nice tricky track as well.

After leaving the track, I noticed that my 2 did not feel too dissimilar to the go kart. Just more comfortable and better acceleration. Cool!

Driver # 1
Best Lap 55.04
Average Lap 59.13
Average Speed 68KMH
34 laps
Shite kart - next time, no smart remarks to angry lady.
BTW, see Quandrys pic of my reg plate? Anyone who wants these done, let me know and ill get them for ya.
Halfords etc, wont make these up for you, as they are not a "legal plate"
However, these are not for road use, they are ONLY for show or meet use. The reason I got these was to prevent my reg from being splashed all over the web by random photograpers during events, so its a privacy/security thing. A local (wont name) motor factors will do these for me. Custom plates are normally 50quid, I can get them for 35euro (standard legal plates are usually 25euro)
Pic doesnt show it, but instead of the county in small print at the top, I have www.mr2.ie
Bare in mind, if you have Jap sized plates, its harder to get in a long name, may need to be split. Approx 7 characters is the most on jap plates, 9 on Irish size plates.
Like I say, whatever you want, let me know. Post here or PM me. Handy for upcoming vintage motor show. Stick on for show, remove and throw in boot after, reg safe. And they look the dogs danglies too!

You can also order these off the web (mostly UK based sites). Do a google search for show plates.
I found www.myshowplates.com ... they allow you to add your own image to the plates like the MR2 drivers logo ??? They have a configurator thingy on their site to show you what it will look like
Similar price to what you are saying for yours swagger

Hey good find actually Spanky, nice one. Had a mess around with that designer very good. I kinda prefer the "standard plate" look though, as it doesnt draw too much attention.

plus ... you might need to tweaked your order a wee bit as it defaults to UK standard yellow rear plate.

Here is another - same idea as Spankys link.
This is via eBay - but you can customise it to select standard IRL/EU logo on left, change anything.
I chose SPIDEY, with mr2.ie underneath is small lettering. IRL/EU std logo to left and a Toyota logo on the right.
Only £13.50 delivered. Plates are solid acrylic but can be stuck on etc
Good part is you go into the ebay shop - click on it and it redirects you to simplyplates.com - you design it there and put in your eBay id and it puts it up as a private eBay auction

wow good find Rob! KC +1... I'm going to buck the trend and go with something other than my forum user name....
Does anyone know what the measurements are for the JDM import plate?
13*6.5?

Ah thats the business Spidey. Best way to go, more flexible design and cheaper. Good find. Wish I knew about that before I got my plates, but how and ever.

Ah, okay - thanks.
That website I was using doesn't let me put in full stops. So, I can't get MR2.IE - just MR2 IE.
I might get two - one with Spidey and one with JDMR2 IE. The space is actually small, so the IE doesn't look that far away.

The NCT handbook says that the JDM number plate is 340mm X 220mm. Google tells me that this is 13.5 x 8.5. The site has 13x6.5.. hopefully it will fit and not look pants!

Its not crucial. Remember, the plate is one size and the whole plate recess in the bumper is a good but bigger, so you have room to play with. Once the plate is as Dave's size, it will be fine.
@ Spidey, you can get velcro "coins" I have flush head plate screws, to the velcro coins neatly stick over them. Wouldnt even notice them. Neat.

I've got mine already, however i also bought TRD licence plate bolts and heads which mean the number plate wont stick on flush with the old one on the front because of the size of the heads Back one is fine as it sits leaning forward, so may have to forget my TRD bolts on the front, just to have my number plate fit on flush, Wohooooo I feel like im 7 yrs old again, anyone want to swap star wars figures at the next meet
