Oil smoke from Engine - 6 Years, 2 Months ago Karma: 117
So there i am overtaking, when i look in rear view mirror to see plumes of smoke billowing from my passenger side engine vent!!!

It turns out all the smoke was coming form Charcoal canister, mine seems be vented to atmosphere with a small K/N type filter.
This had alot of oil on it..

Questions is: Why is this air all of a sudden so full of oil?

is all of your oil pressure tubes/pipes in place around that area? maybe from higher oil pressure when revs went up one of the pipes slipped off...other than that have no clue so far.
Good luck finding answer anyway

Get rid of that charcoal canister the only reason its there is to act as a fuel tank vent and filter to stop pressure buildup so you dont get the smell of fuel, but because the fuel is decreasing there is more vacuum than pressure most of the time which and ive never smelled any petrol since ive gotten rid of it, had no problems and makes the engine bay look neater.
And you can either block the 2 metal pipes on the throttle body or just join them together like i did with a yellow tube. and see if that solves your problem.

Lumpy idle is often ignition related. First place to check would be leads, plugs, cap and rotor.

Im just guessing here- but if oil is entering through the same vacuum hose for the charcoal cannister-could that be a compression issue?
