wet floor mats 5 Years, 2 Months ago Karma: 11
Hi all been a while since I've been on here but I need some advice. My drivers side carpet is damp after rainfall but I can't locate the leak. I had the mat up and there is no rust and the sides of the carpet are dry. The rubber bung in the middle of the floor does not seem to be leaking either. As always all help appreciated

get a colour dye and mixed it into water then poor over the car and see where the leak is coming from could be a seal at windows anything really or tbar if your is one or seals at the door where the wiring goes through even the bond on the windsrceen
worth a try

Is sure car a hardtop or t bar?
If you have a hardtop it could well be your door/window seals.

Came across this today from MR2Ben. Might help anyone who has a serious T-Bar seal leak.

I had a leak in the passenger side a while back Punky ... it turned out that the speakers in the doors were changed at some point. The plastic between the door metal and the interior door card was not put back on properly causing the water to run down the wrong side of the plastic. It was tricking down the door, over the sill and into the footwell instead of staying at the other side of the plastic and out the drain at the bottom of the door

I have a Tbar and have had leaks...

1st step is to check the 4 drain pipes are working correctly and access to them isn't clogged with silt.
2nd is to make sure the Tbars are seated nicely when re-fitting them, and spay the seals with plenty of the correctly lubriciant
3rd, is to fit eccentric guides which are cheap from Toyota or mr2ben and these will pull the Tbar down harder on the seals.
4th is to replace the seals, you can get them for around 150euro Toyota Dallas.

There are links to all these on imoc/mr2oc.co.uk etc
Hope this helps,
Tony
