Dont bother with them, get yourself a slightly thicker aftermarket head gasket, that way you will safely be able to increase boost and have more power.
Im not sure what aftermarket gasket would be best but im sure someone else who dealt with them on here would be able to tell you.

Yes now youre on the right track, im not sure which to go for, you will have to do some research or maybe someone here might know.
your stock compression ratio with stock 1mm gasket 8.8:1
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_S_engine
If you go for 1.5mm you will be increasing volume by .5mm, decreasing your compression ratio but im not sure by how much there are formulas for working that out online and how much boost you can run at a certain compression ratio, you will have to do a little research.

In my rev3 the compression is 8.0:1 at .8bar im getting 330bhp
And in my other rev3 the compression is 8.5:1 at 1bar boost 290bhp
Both mapped by same person, and both engines have pretty much same mods except lower compression in one of them. some difference compression can make.

im looking to get 280 to 300 bhp safelty but will be doing it over time....

So far i have an uprated aluminium rad and an uprated inter cooler system to be put from jdmistro apparently able to handle 600 bhp so 300 should be no issues with that....

but before i start further changes id like to get the headgasket upgraded... hopefully someone can point me in the right direction and if im changing / doing the right things to be honest i know nothing about cars really

was thinking of getting a stainless steel manifold and exhaust system ? thoughts on that worth it or not ?

Japohara on here is running about that on his rev2 im sure he could tell you exactly what needs to be done.
Got92tubby on here might still have that 4 branch manifold but i dont think its for the stock turbo, it would improve flow.
Exhaust upgrade is good too, better flow and lighter exhaust.

Gtschris.com or .co.uk .... cometic 1.8 mm head gasket ... timing belt kit ... an apexi neo ... a boost controller and a bigger intercooler ... get revs to map it ... I am running 315 bhp on standard manifold and a ct26 turbo ... rev2 engine ...

Not exactly expensive ... 200 - 250 labour is about the normal price for labour on fitting timing belt and head gasket ...

I am going much bigger power before the next track day .. 400 ish

Thats exactly what im using in my car, i have it about a year now not a single problem and it does a lot more then the neo.
I say go for it...

If you do buy it get this cable aswel if it dosent come with the emanage because i had problems trying to connect it using the original 22pin serial connector which nearly all laptops dont have, this usb one will work straight away and save you a headache.
