Anyone upgraded their PS3 hardrive? 5 Years, 2 Months ago Karma: 284
Just upgraded my ps3 hardrive from a 60g to a Terabyte, time to start downloading all the old classics

Im finding its about 4 or 5 seconds slower to go through ps3 store but maybe thats because its more to rummage through memory wise?

Anyone else done this and how are you finding the response times etc?

When you say you've upgraded the hard drive are you talking internally or are you just using hooking an external hard drive up as the main storage device?

Internally, I used a 1T 2.5" sata drive, took about 10 mins to take out the old one and install the new one, longest part was just waiting for the back up to my flash drive before taking out the old drive and then uploading the backup file to my new drive. I did a bit of reading up on it over the weekend and once you go over the 500g is does get a bit slower responsiveness due to the amount of memory etc i'd say my 1T can be 5 secs slower when scrolling through various screens like netflix etc but im really happy now that I can download and keep my files and games rather than deleting old saves etc etc

Fair play on the DIY Dave. 1TB should keep you going for a bit!
